Please read these terms before instructing us. By instructing KCL Interiors Limited to carry out work you agree to them. Where a main contractor's subcontract terms are agreed in writing for a specific project, those terms take precedence for that project.
Company
These terms apply to all services provided by KCL Interiors Limited, registered in England and Wales, company 12463707, of 10 Royal Oak, 59-61 St. Albans Avenue, Bournemouth, BH8 9EG. Contact: info@kclinteriorsltd.co.uk or 07934 026 878.
Services
KCL Interiors Limited provides drylining (metal stud partitions, MF ceilings, independent and acoustic linings, dot and dab, boarding, taping and jointing), plastering, feature ceilings, media walls and curved plasterwork, and external rendering. Work is carried out to a professional standard and in accordance with the relevant Building Regulations and manufacturers' instructions.
Quotations
Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise in writing. They are based on the drawings, specification and information you supply and, where possible, a site visit. If additional work is needed that was not in the quotation, for example unforeseen preparation or a change to the drawings, we will tell you and provide a revised price before proceeding.
Acceptance and programme
A contract is formed when you accept our quotation, verbally, in writing or by instructing us to proceed, and we confirm a start date. We will work to the agreed programme but are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including weather, material supply, other trades, access restrictions or the building not being ready for us.
Cancellation
Please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or move a site visit. Less notice may incur a charge equal to the cost of the visit.
For projects already under way, cancellation terms are agreed at the point of instruction. In all cases you will be asked to pay for work completed and materials purchased.
Payment
Payment terms are agreed before work starts. Unless agreed otherwise in writing:
- Invoices are due within 14 days of the invoice date.
- We accept bank transfer and card payment.
- Larger projects are invoiced in stages at agreed milestones.
- A deposit may be required before materials are ordered or work starts.
- Late payment may incur interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and we may suspend work while payment is overdue.
Workmanship guarantee
KCL Interiors Limited provides a 12-month workmanship guarantee on completed work from the date of completion. It covers defects in workmanship only and does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage caused by the client, other trades or third parties.
- Structural movement, subsidence or building defects unrelated to our work.
- Problems arising from not following our aftercare advice, for example painting plaster before it has dried.
- Problems arising from materials supplied by the client.
Client responsibilities
- Provide clear and safe access to the work area, and welfare facilities on site.
- Ensure a working electricity and water supply where needed.
- Remove or protect furniture, belongings and floor coverings before we start, unless agreed otherwise.
- Tell us about known hazards, including asbestos, structural issues or hidden services.
- Obtain any planning permission or Building Regulations approval before work starts.
Liability
KCL Interiors Limited carries public liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the contracted works. We are not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential loss.
- Damage to items not removed from the work area as advised.
- Pre-existing defects discovered during our work.
- Delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Variations
Changes to the agreed scope must be confirmed in writing; email is fine. Additional work outside the quotation is priced before we proceed.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with any part of our work, contact info@kclinteriorsltd.co.uk or 07934 026 878. We will acknowledge a complaint within two working days and aim to resolve it as quickly as we can.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The terms in force when you instruct us apply to that engagement.
