About KCL Interiors
A plastering company built around one team.
KCL Interiors was set up in Bournemouth in February 2020 by Phil Last, after about twenty years boarding and plastering other people’s jobs and seeing the same thing go wrong: a boarding gang on Monday, a plasterer on Thursday, and nobody who owned the wall in between.
So the company was built the other way round. A directly employed drylining team, plasterers who have worked with them since the beginning, and one package for the whole interior of a house: partitions, ceilings, linings, boarding, skim, the feature work at the end, and the render outside if the job needs it.
We are not the cheapest plasterers in Dorset and we are not trying to be. We are set up for the larger houses, the refurbishments and new builds where the boarding runs to hundreds of sheets and the finish is the thing the client will run a hand over.
The team

Drylining
Directly employed by KCL. Metal stud, MF, linings and boarding. The core of every job.
Plastering
Long-term trade partners who have worked with the drylining team since 2020 and skim what they board.
Rendering
The same company, outside. Monocouche, sand and cement and silicone systems.

Phil Last
Founder and director. Still on the tools.
Phil founded the company, runs every job and still boards and skims alongside the team. About twenty years in the trade; one of his colleagues has the same, two more have about ten.

We turn up when we said
Half past seven means half past seven. If a day is going to slip you hear the night before, with a new date, not an apology on the morning.
The price is itemised
Boards, stud, fixings, skim, labour, waste. Every line says what it is for, so there is nothing to argue about at the final account.
Same faces, start to finish
Our dryliners are employed by KCL. Nobody arrives at your site that we have not worked alongside for years.
The floor is clean at five
Offcuts bagged, dust down, tools stacked. On a house that is still lived in, that is the difference between a job and an ordeal.
Snags walked before we leave
Every room, with you or your site manager, before the sheets come up. Not a snag list by email a fortnight later.
Still here afterwards
A hairline crack after the heating goes on, a door catching an architrave. Ring. We come back.
